Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 titles have been achieved on hard courts

A comeback Daniil Medvedev secured his maiden championship for 882 days with victory over opponent Moutet in the competition championship match.

The Russian, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a torrid season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.

His varied form on the tennis tour - and difficulties with his serving in particular - led to him falling of the top ten and ultimately parting ways with former trainer his previous coach.

Presently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has steadily advanced in the last few weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set win over opponent Moutet.

This represents the player's first championship since the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt since spring of the previous year.

The win also signifies Medvedev has secured 21 championships at 21 different competitions.

"It's the first time I have attended a tournament with my children at once, so to get a trophy is especially meaningful," said tennis professional the champion.

"This championship is in tribute of my child my daughter, because the first title I won when my child her name was born was for her."

The tennis star, the past champion, had lost his last six championship matches, featuring in that event previously this season.

His retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the playing surface had caused observers to question if his skill to play at the elite level was over.

But the athlete has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play positively, supported by an enhanced serve.

The champion came back from a deficit in the opening set against the tricky opponent, taking four of the concluding five points to go ahead.

Both players exchanged service breaks in the second set before the challenger, attempting for his maiden ATP Tour championship, gained dominance to create a final set.

Moutet rescued four early opportunities in a competitive deciding set before Medvedev won the break to 15 to secure the win.

Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a point at the front of the court, with his opponent incapable to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
